Byron Bay Blues Festival
A.K.A - Byron Bay Blues & Roots Music Festival

Music has long been the heart and soul of every generation and
community. Byron Bay music festivals are no exception. Known for its music festivals,
among other things, the East Coast Blues & Roots Music Festival is an
annual five-day event. Beginning back in 1990, the Festival has
continued to increase in popularity. Once an indoor event, lasting four
days and drawing about 6,000 music lovers – the 2008 festival drew an
astounding crowd of more than 16,000 with more food and craft vendors
than ever before.
Today the Byron Bay Blues Festival has developed into one of the most
prominent events on the international and Australian festival calendars.
Most days the performances begin around the noon hour and continue
through to midnight. Typically held during the Easter season, the
weather is fabulous, the food is plentiful and as always, the music is
incredible.
The location for 2009 is still undecided. Although 300 acres has been
purchased at Tyagarah Ti Tree Farms, the organisers say the move will
only happen once all the boxes have been checked off and everyone is
happy. They will not complete the move until it can be done properly and
not half done. With its reputation as a spectacular and growing
international event, the organisers will continue to keep the focus on
what is best for the event itself and those who come from far and wide
to enjoy it.
Considering the popularity and increasing size of the festival every
year, it is anticipated that the 2009 event will have even more to offer
than in previous years. Organisers and participating bands / musicians
are anticipating record crowds as the Festival celebrates its 20th
Anniversary with the 2009 event.
If you are a music lover, enjoy food and craft stalls and are
planning your vacation to this incredibly beautiful area, you may want
to consider checking the calendar for the exact dates before you book
your holiday. The Byron Bay Blues Festival is an
experience of a lifetime that you will not want to miss.
Whether you prefer your events on land, in the air or out on the open
sea; sitting in lush, garden soundings or under the big top – out in the
market or inside the galleries and local clubs, you can find it just
about any time of the year! For a really special treat, why not visit
during the Christmas holiday and see what the Christmas and New Year
Festivals are like? The people of Byron Bay definitely know how to put
on a show that you will never forget!
